On December 9, 2009 the Senate voted to pass the amendments proposed to Bill C-15. For a summary of these amendments click here.
The bill goes back to the Senate for a third and final vote on the entire bill. Following this the Bill returns to the House of Commons for final approval, and then onto the Governor General for Royal Assent. There is still time to contact your Senators and tell them to JUST SAY NO TO BILL C-15. The amendments are not enough to save this policy. Bill C-15 is still very flawed. Compassion clubs face a substantial risk to their safe ability to provide medicinal marijuana to patients. Young people are vulnerable to facing federal prison time for non-violent drug offences. We need to tell Senators to stop this bill, stop the continued failing criminal approach towards drugs and drug use, and start a sensible drug policy based in a health model.
