Conference 2008
|
In July of 1908 Canada passed the Opium Act, its first piece of drug legislation. Since then Canadian drug laws have criminally and morally targeted drug use and addiction, without attempting to understand the realities faced by drug users and addicts. In response, in November 2008, the Canadian Students for a Sensible Drug Policy threw a party in Ottawa to celebrate 100 years of failed drug policy, and come up with viable solutions. An official report and a conference DVD are coming soon. |
