Election 2008

CSSDP Chapters in both Winnipeg and Ottawa have been working to put out a survey to their local candidates about how they feel on issues relating to drug policy. Below you'll find the responses that were returned by party headquarters as the official party responses. By finding the city below you can look at the responses of individual MPs that were polled.

Clicking on the party logo, or the name of the candidate, will take you to their long answer responses.

Would the candidate support or oppose Bill C-26, a Conservative bill introducing mandatory minimum penalties for drug offenses? Would the candidate support the continued operation of Insite, Vancouver's supervised injection clinic? Does the candidate believe that marijuana for recreational use should remain illegal; be decriminalized; or be legalized?
New Democratic Party of Canada Oppose Yes Be Decriminalized
Green Party of Canada
Oppose Yes Be Legalized
Liberal Party of Canada Oppose Yes Be Decriminalized

Not only did the Conservative party refrain from submitting an all party response, not a single Conservative candidate returned a completed survey, despite several efforts to follow up by phone. This is not to say that the Conservatives have nothing to say about drug policy. Read about the Conservative Party's Platform
